Are you thinking of running for Bellevue City Council?

Call me, Chuck Fredrick, at 292-3823.

Why?

Because I was on the Bellevue City Council- Ward 1- for 4 years and ran for mayor the last two elections. The first time I ever ran for an elected office was in 1996. I defeated an 8 year incumbent and she outspent me 5 to 1. I spent less than $1,000 and got over 66% of the votes.

Pretty good for a first timer.

I then ran for mayor against incumbent Jerry Ryan and was runner up. I spent less than $4,000 and got 1/3 of the votes, while Ryan had to spend a reported $50,000 and could have spent as much as $75,000 to get reelected.

I then ran against Ryan again last election. I got over 1,000 votes and I spent less than $1,000. Spending less than 1 dollar per vote was by far much less than the other candidates spent. The city is finally using some of my campaign platforms that I have talked about the last 8 years. My #1 priority last election was to replace our expensive contracted attorney with a full-time city employed city attorney.

There are a number of ideas that I can pass on to you about winning against incumbent councilmen. This election next year many of the incumbents are very vulnerable.

Call if you would like to know more.
